Providence Academy has implemented a thorough admissions process in an attempt not to be exclusive but to be inclusive of families who strongly desire a Christian education with an emphasis on character development and parental involvement. The admissions process involves the following steps:
Attend a Preview Meeting
- Attend an informational meeting, which is mandatory for the application process, to receive an overview of the school.
- Dates for upcoming meetings here
Commit to Prayer
Prayerfully consider your family’s needs for education and whether those needs would best be met by Providence Academy.
Complete Required Reading
Read the following books on the University-Model and Christian and classical education:
- Kingdom Education by Glen Schultz (required reading before the family interview, may be purchased online at amazon.com or lifeway.com)
- Character Driven Education by John Turner (available through the school only)
- An Introduction to Classical Education, A Guide for Parents by Christopher A. Perrin, M.Div., PH.D.
Submit an Online Application & Documentation
- 2024-2025 applications are accessible via invitation only as space permits.
- Remit any recent reports or standardized test results by mail, fax, or email.
- Submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate and vaccination records.
- Remove the Records Release Form at the back of your packet, complete the top portion and send the form to the School Principal, Administrator, or Guidance Counselor at your child’s prior school.
- Please forward the Academic Referral form to your child’s current teacher (if applicable).
- Forward the Pastoral Reference form to your family’s pastor or church staff member.
Attend a Family Interview
Participate in a family interview to be scheduled (PA administration will contact you) after your application, all referral forms, and current school records have been received. The purpose of the interview is to discuss the compatibility of the family’s goals with the school’s methods and philosophy. Please have required reading completed by the time of the family interview.
Placement Testing
All incoming K4-11th grade students will be administered a Providence developed placement assessment to be scheduled by our testing coordinator. Tests are administered during the admission process in order to ensure that each family might better determine the comparative relationship between the student and PA’s level of course work, which may influence student placement.
Receive an Admissions Decision, Enroll, & Prepare
Admissions decisions will be emailed after all prior steps of the admissions process have been completed, typically within two weeks of your family interview. Following an acceptance offer, you will receive further instructions on school Enrollment and Tuition. Enrollment reserves your seat at Providence Academy and includes payment of annual fees. Tuition can either be paid in full or in 12 monthly payments via FACTS (May-April).
At the beginning of summer, you will need to purchase school uniforms and all required textbooks, submit health and immunization records, complete a physical (for athletes), and provide any requested records to the school office. Additionally, there is required summer reading for students in grades 3 and up, and optional reading and math programs for most grade levels. (All details will be provided to newly enrolled families at the beginning of summer.)
Attend Parent Partnership Training
The parent serving as the primary Co-Teacher will need to participate in our annual summer training designed to equip all teachers in their role at Providence Academy.
