I became a Christian at the age of nine, and even before that time the Lord had begun to impress upon my heart the love of teaching. Answering His call, I attended East Texas Baptist University where I received my Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a minor in mathematics. After college, I taught for 13 years in public school from 1st to 5th grades. My husband Mark and I were blessed with a son, at which time I became a stay at home mom. When our son reached school age, we began to pray for God’s guidance regarding schooling. Having both grown up attending Christian School we knew the value of Christian education. For the last five years, I have been teaching and my son has been attending a local private Christian school. After much prayer, we have been led to Providence Academy. Our family looks forward to being an integral part of the school…. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future....

I grew up in Mesquite, Texas, in a loving Christian home. At the age of six, I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior and committed my life to following Him. I attended Ouachita Baptist University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. After teaching in public schools for four years, I felt the Lord leading me to further e my studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2005, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a concentration in Missions. Following seminary, I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where I served on a church sta. During that time, I met and married my husband, Jeremy, and together we have been blessed with three children. Since returning to Texas in 2016, I have taught in a variety of settings, including public schools, private schools, and a refugee center. I was especially grateful for the opportunity to teach second grade at Providence Academy from 2022 to 2024. From a young age, I have had four deep desires: to cultivate a vibrant relationship with Jesus, to be a devoted wife and mother, to live on mission for Christ, and to teach. Over the years, the Lord has provided opportunities...

As a child, I spent my allowances on carbon paper so that I could type on my typewriter multiple copies of worksheets for my imaginary students. I logged thousands of hours playing school and had my mom find old teacher editions of textbooks to add to my ever-growing curriculum collection. When my parents hung a chalkboard and roll-down world map in my room at home, I was thrilled! My sister and I tried many times to make our own overhead projector using a magnifying glass and a flashlight, but my dream of owning my very own transparency machine was realized as an adult when I found a machine to use with my daughters during our early days of homeschooling. My passion for teaching goes back many years! … As a student at Texas A&M University in College Station, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in counseling, so I majored in psychology with an emphasis in Spanish. It wasn’t long before I realized that I couldn’t escape my love for teaching, so after graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I enrolled as a Master of Education student, specializing in curriculum and instruction. While attending...

I’m a born and raised Texan, who graduated from Rowlett High School in 2003. I studied Child Development at Harding University in Searcy, AR. While there, I was blessed to spend a semester abroad at our Greece campus and traveled to Egypt, Israel, and more. It was from that experience that I began to love ancient history and how it correlates to the Bible. Not long after college I met my husband, Danny. In 2010, we got married and moved -what seemed at the time- allll the way out to Caddo Mills in the middle of nowhere. We have a nice little slice of land where we raise goats, chickens, cats, and a dog. And the reason I do it all… our three kids: Caleb, Joshua, and AnnaRay, who are just as excited to start Providence as I am! When I first started teaching my goal was to teach kindergarten and stay in that grade until I retired. God had other plans. For the last 14+ years I’ve been teaching in some form or fashion, from public school to preschool to classical homeschooling and all the while teaching Bible class in between. I loved teaching the littles and reluctantly moved...

My grandfather, a lifelong educator, used to tell me often that "Teachers are born, not made." I believe that must be true, because some of my favorite childhood memories are the hours I spent pretending to be a teacher in my mom's classroom after school. Not only was I born into a family of educators, my parents also wove the Gospel into so many conversations with my brothers and I as kids. I fell in love with Jesus as a young girl, and for as long as I can remember I knew I would one day have a classroom of my own so I could love my own students the way Jesus has always loved me. I attended Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education) with an emphasis in intermediate math & science. I graduated from A&M in 2012 and my first teaching job was as a 5th grade science teacher in Navasota. During that first year of teaching I realized I had fallen in love with one of my closest friends, and thankfully he felt the same way! I married my darling husband, Andrew, in 2013 and then we moved to Dallas so he could...

I was born in South Africa into a Christian home. From my earliest memories, I always wanted to be a teacher and a mom, and God answered both those desires! We moved to America (Massachussetts) when I was 13. After graduating from a Christian high school, I attended Liberty University, where I met my husband and received a degree in elementary education. After spending a few years in Illinois for seminary, we settled back in New England, where I spent 18 years raising and homeschooling our 6 boys. I was also blessed to be able to teach art and science in a homeschool tutorial. We moved to Texas 2 years ago, with 2 boys still at home and 4 boys in the army. Last year God graciously led us to Providence Academy, which was an answer to many prayers, and we have been so blessed to be here!...

I was born and raised in DFW and am thrilled to be back in the area after spending three years away at college. I attended Ouachita Baptist University, where I earned my BA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Performance and a minor in Communications. I have been involved with theatre since I was five years old, and have performed at the collegiate and professional level for many years. During college, I found a love for not only performing, but for directing, playwriting, choreographing, and the technical side of theatre. Since graduation, I have worked as a dance teacher and choreographer around the DFW area. In my free time I enjoy swing dancing, going to see live theatre, and spending time with family and friends. For years, I was torn between pursuing theatre, ministry, or education. The Lord graciously led me to Providence, where I have the opportunity to do all three! I believe theatre can and should be a place for ministry, and I am excited to provide students with an environment that encourages creativity and worship. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the staff, and to be coworkers with my greatest inspiration, my mom....

I am a Dallas native with family ties to Rockwall. My family and I are now pleased to call Rockwall home and are so excited to be part of Providence Academy. I was among the first generation of classically educated students when the classical movement first saw its resurgence. I have since taught at the grammar level in multiple Dallas-area classical schools, homeschooled my own children, and been instrumental in founding a Charlotte Mason-based homeschool co-op. I have a B.A. in Music from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA and finished my degree vowing that I would never teach. In the mysterious way the Lord works, He gently led me to what has become my passion and calling. I have spent the last several years earning a Master’s degree in Classical Education at the University of Dallas. While there, I worked with Angel Parham and the Nyansa Classical Community to integrate the black intellectual tradition into the classical canon. As part of that project, I helped formalize and develop multi-ethnic virtue-based classical curriculum. My family and I have also recently started the LLF Library, which offers the very best living children’s literature to the Dallas-area community. I have three children,...
