Logic & Theology
A paradigm shift occurred in my faith journey in 2007 in response to the words of Jesus to the first-century Pharisee who tested Him by asking, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” (Matt 22:36). Jesus responded with a quote from Deuteronomy 6:5, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt 22:37). After years of both studying and teaching the Bible, I was compelled by the Spirit of God to love God with all of my mind, which initiated my study of the Bible in higher education. My prayer is that our students move away from secular emotionalism to complete heart, soul, and mind devotion to God on the basis of sound logic and Christian theological truth. Right-thinking about God results in Spirit-led life transformation that endures. My passion is to lead students into the truth of God that results in a lifetime of vibrant, fruitful relationship with God....

I am so excited to be joining the Providence family! Teaching is one of my passions and this year will mark my 10th year in the classroom. Being at Providence with my husband is truly an answered prayer and we look forward to this chapter.I’m from Miami, FL. I am grateful to have been raised in a loving Christian home. I went to college at the University of Central Florida and actually started a career as an animal trainer at Sea World. After a few years, I felt God calling me into a different direction so I moved back home, met my husband, and started a new career path in education. I taught elementary school for seven years and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership. In 2014, my husband and I had our first child; I was blessed to be able to stay home for the next few years to care for our three babies. God led our family to Rockwall three years ago, which we love calling home. The past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working at Lakepointe’s MDO program as a pre-k teacher but I’m looking forward to being back in a 1st grade classroom...

I was raised by my parents in the small west Texas town of Southland with my four sisters. My parents faithfully took me to church and I made a profession of faith at a young age; however, I did not come to know Jesus in a saving way until after I was married. Growing up I attended our town’s little school of 200 students. I loved sports and had the opportunity to play basketball, tennis, cheerlead, and run track. After high school I went to college at Texas Tech where I graduated with a degree in education and minor in math. I then moved to Dallas to teach middle school math. Shortly after, I married my husband Brian and after my second child was born, I began life as a stay-at-home mom. During this time I started attending a Bible study and through God’s Word, the Holy Spirit began opening my eyes to the holiness of God and my sinful heart. Many things started to change in my life, including my desire to homeschool. I took my oldest child out of public school and began to homeschool my two children. I now have 5 children. My oldest just graduated, I...

I was raised in Huntsville, AL and homeschooled K-12th. My close relationship with my parents and brothers is something I will forever attribute to the type of schooling and values my parents made a priority. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Troy University and from there worked in college ministry for 3 years. I married my husband, Hunter, in 2015. He was in the Army; we moved all over for 8 years. I worked in preschools and in child care for the first 2 years until we had our first child. After living in NC, TN, AZ, and CO, my husband left the Army and took a job in Dallas. We settled in Rockwall County and found “home.” When we moved here, I worked in different preschools in the area. Friends at our church, Redeemer Rockwall, told us about Providence Academy, which was such an answer to prayer. I was hoping to find some sort of co-op or homeschool hybrid that would allow Hayden the time to be in a Christ-centered environment and build friendships, but still keep her home some days and be part of this incredible task of discipling and educating her. This school is exactly...

Hello and welcome! I am delighted to share a little about myself and our family’s journey to Providence Academy. I grew up in Temple, Texas, where I attended a close-knit Christian school much like Providence Academy for grades 2 through 8. I later graduated from Texas State University with a B.A. in Psychology. After a short time in the corporate world, I felt God calling me to pursue a career in education. I earned my teaching certification and began teaching in 2007. Since then, I have had the joy of teaching kindergarten, first, and second in both public and private settings. My husband, Chris, and I have been together for 20 wonderful years. We are blessed with two amazing boys, Hannon and Merritt, who both attend Providence Academy. After feeling unfulfilled with many aspects of public education, we began praying for a more suitable path for our boys. We desired a Christ-centered education that allowed us to partner and participate in the educational process. It was in the summer of 2023 that we felt led to Providence Academy. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord himself goes before you,” and we witnessed his faithfulness in every detail of our...
