I was raised in Huntsville, AL and homeschooled K-12th. My close relationship with my parents and brothers is something I will forever attribute to the type of schooling and values my parents made a priority. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Troy University and from there worked in college ministry for 3 years. I married my husband, Hunter, in 2015. He was in the Army; we moved all over for 8 years. I worked in preschools and in child care for the first 2 years until we had our first child. After living in NC, TN, AZ, and CO, my husband left the Army and took a job in Dallas. We settled in Rockwall County and found “home.” When we moved here, I worked in different preschools in the area. Friends at our church, Redeemer Rockwall, told us about Providence Academy, which was such an answer to prayer. I was hoping to find some sort of co-op or homeschool hybrid that would allow Hayden the time to be in a Christ-centered environment and build friendships, but still keep her home some days and be part of this incredible task of discipling and educating her. This school is exactly...

Kindergarten Teacher
God led us to Providence two years ago when we were searching for a school for my daughter. And now I have the pleasure of joining the Providence family in the role of Kindergarten teacher. I was born in East Texas and as a kid moved with my family to California. We returned to Texas when I was in high school. After graduation, I moved to Tulsa, OK and attended college at Oral Roberts University. I met my husband at ORU. We have been married 10 years and have a daughter and a son, who both attend Providence. I have a BS in psychology, a minor in humanities, and am currently seeking a masters in marriage and family therapy. My heart has always been to help others. Walking down this path of learning about others and how to help guide them to grow in different areas has helped mold me as a mother, wife, person, and now teacher. Although I graduated with a psychology degree, my heart’s desire was to be an education major. I discovered my love for teaching from my 4th grade teacher. She influenced me in such a positive way. Her love of learning, and her passion...

Hello and welcome! I am delighted to share a little about myself and our family’s journey to Providence Academy. I grew up in Temple, Texas, where I attended a close-knit Christian school much like Providence Academy for grades 2 through 8. I later graduated from Texas State University with a B.A. in Psychology. After a short time in the corporate world, I felt God calling me to pursue a career in education. I earned my teaching certification and began teaching in 2007. Since then, I have had the joy of teaching kindergarten, first, and second in both public and private settings. My husband, Chris, and I have been together for 20 wonderful years. We are blessed with two amazing boys, Hannon and Merritt, who both attend Providence Academy. After feeling unfulfilled with many aspects of public education, we began praying for a more suitable path for our boys. We desired a Christ-centered education that allowed us to partner and participate in the educational process. It was in the summer of 2023 that we felt led to Providence Academy. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord himself goes before you,” and we witnessed his faithfulness in every detail of our...
